Dear Society, How are you? I hope this letter finds you in jest and jubilation. I am not sure about your mood but I was in real jubilation when I went to a hospital last week to confirm my pregnancy status. You should have seen the hospital with its looks nothing short of a corporate office. I have seen those grand hoardings quite a number of times, but one got to enter those buildings to get the real feel of it. The hospital that I visited is completely dedicated to mother and child care. It struck me unusual that such a huge building with its innumerable staff exists only to serve mothers and their children. The next time someone tells me women are not given respect in our country, I will take them to visit my hospital. One tour around those multiple stories would make even a radical feminist to concede that we do respect our women. The morning of 13 th September, 2013 echoed with such statements from the elite society soon after the four convicts of the Delhi Gang Rape Case were awarded death punishment. Dear society, How are you? I am fine and I hope this letter finds you safe and indoors. It might sound funny but this introductory seems so appropriate to our girls who are always expected to stay safe and indoors. Now that the situation has changed, their sole slogan is now being shared by all, “Stay home, Stay safe”, however with a slight modification. Our men are trying to stay home and stay safe while are women are being forced to stay home forever and keep their families safe. Last week, I had a conversation with an old aunt of mine and trust me, the first thing she asked me was if I had not quit my job yet. I was wonder-struck at her question.
