The Indian Leadership Crisis |
The 2014 parliamentary elections are fast approaching leaving very little time for discussions other than the new face of India to soar up in the skies. Beginning from the main competitors Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi, the entire nation is heated up with debates for and against different politicians. But, is India sure on attaining a leader at least this time or is it again going to vote for a mere politician.
For centuries together, the glorious land of India has experienced the reign of efficient rulers. From Aryans till Mughals India has the magnificent past of valiant warriors and wise rulers. The freedom struggle once again manifested the leadership qualities running in the veins of the descendants of the ferocious conqueror Bharat. The moderates, the extremists and finally Gandhi, everyone proved it to the point that India is a bowl filled with leaders to the brim.
With innovative ideas and creative thoughts all the time India was led by rulers, valiant in times of war, wise in times of trouble, kind in times of need and rigid in times of evil. One can at any point of time, recall innumerable number of Indians who have found a place for India in the history of the world. According to certain surveys, Gandhi, Gautam Buddha and Krishna are among the five most famous people in the world.
67years of independence has erased all the roots of leadership in the Indians. Unworthy people have taken up the reins of the political horse and led the country into unrecoverable ruins. For the first time, in 1947 the public were given a chance to choose their ruler and this gradually turned out to be a flaw as the choice of the public became worse. This has become a law finally leading to the present system of introducing the word None of the above in the EVM.
Educationists, scholars, professors, all the smartest men in the country couldn’t rule out the irregularities happening in the country. Everyone is playing a mere audience to the unending play of evil. India has got inefficient politicians in the place of efficient leaders. India which was once the land to have started doing all the impossible is now not in a state to do the most possible thing of dethroning an invaluable leader.
The 2014 elections are another opportunity for us to make possible the most possible. The interpretation that there is no apt nominee to vote is untrue. The only thing is we need to look into the depths of the subject.
It’s time we, the youth take up the arms of voting and under the shields of the constitution, fight this war of good over evil and pave way for a brighter destination. The war may not be instant and immediate but for sure, the seeds of responsibility that we sow now shall turn out to be trees once and make the path look more beautiful for our future generations to walk in.
